Day 8,9,10 : 5th - 7th July, 2014

Saturday's class was Fluid Mechanics class from 8 am - 1 pm. Sir solved Hydrostatic forces problems and those questions were quite useful for understanding the concepts.

Sunday's class had a 1hour test on linear algebra and SOM class. SOM class was quite boring and Sir discussed stresses, deflection due to self-weight and few observations on that topic.

The exam paper was a good standard paper with lot of tricky questions on statements and reasoning type. Numerical problems were quite easy.

Today's class I bunked. Bling!!. I went through the problems and did it in my notes. Sir has discussed conventional problems in forces and deformation in bars, composite bodies and volumetric strain.

Tiresome day... Birthday Celebrations are going on for an hostellite...Happie Birthdayy boss...Hurray ..Huah.. Cheers...:-) :-) :-) ..Gonna sleep... Tomorrow classes are at 6.30am. Holy Cow!!

Day 6,7 : 3rd-4th July, 2014

Strength of Materials class was continued and Stress-Strain curve for various materials and behaviour was discussed. But I felt very sleepy yesterday. Whatever was left in class, I made it up with afternoon study hour in library. Boys were sitting in multitudes in a small space, while girls section's headcount was 5. Bling!! Bling!!. Importance of settling down in life..:-D
In today's SOM class,  all elastic constants were introduced and Sir solved his first problem after two days of class. Hurray !!. Today I didnt go to study center but stayed back in hostel. Telugu people(my classmates) really have a pleasant attitude and I have made quite a few friends. All cheerful fellas...:-) :-)

Day 5 : 2nd July, 2014

Yay.... Tomorrow's classes are from 9am. What a big relief!!. Today in fluid mechanics class sir taught pressure measurement and stressed on the importance of practicing conversions. (to determine weight from specific weight, on importance of finding ρg in terms of specific gravity of the fluid and specific weight of water).

Second part was Strength of Materials and this Sir was such a pleasure to listen, full of energy and pleasing attitude. He gave lot of tips. 120 questions need to be answered in 120 mins for 100 marks for objective exam in IES. First round, all theory questions should be answered. Second round, easy data problems should be tried and atlast, critical data problems may be tried. He is teaching this subject with interview questions on mind.I am eagerly expecting for his class tomorrow.

Day 4 : 1st July, 2014

I am getting accustomed to the early morning classes. Tomorrow's classes starts at 6.30am. Bling!! Bling !!. Today was continuation of Linear Algebra class. He went with a much slower pace today and I listened his class better today. Rank, Eigen values, Vectors, Linear dependency and independency, Cayley Hamilton theorem were the topics discussed. Today he gave a lot of useful shortcuts too. Day starts early for me tomorrow and the best part is it is fluid mechanics and strength of materials. My favourites.:-).:-)

Monday 30 June 2014

Day 3 : 30th June, 2014

It was a beautiful start for the day, spotting 7 chittukuruvis (sparrows) on the way to class. I was late to class by ten minutes for the Linear Algebra class.(7 am - 10.30am). I always find maths boring and today was no different. I found it very difficult to sit through the class. From 11 am - 1 pm we had Numerical ability and Sir solved all the problems in a breezy style. He also emphasized on practising maths and aptitude which has a weightage of 30 marks in GATE out of which 20 marks can be obtained with good amount of learning and practice. Now, it is time for studies..!!!

Sunday 29 June 2014

Day 1,2 : 28th-29th June, 2014

Yay, Starting with a late post.... First day class was from 9 am-1 pm. As usual i started at 8.50 from hostel. It was Fluid Mechanics subject. The faculty who took this subject took FM classes for me in Vani institute,Chennai in 2010. It was because of him i bought Cengel book and read this subject from the scratch later in third year.

After a brief introduction about IES exam, First day class was about Introduction, Fluid Properties. He dealt Newtonian equation in a new approach and solved few problems.

Today's class(10 am-1 pm & 2 pm-4 pm) was continuation of Newtonian equation, Surface Tension, Capillarity, Hydrostatics and a brief note on Non-Newtonian fluids.

I got an introduction to level 1 problems in shear stress, frictional torque and frictional power loss problems using Newtonian equation.

Studying part - I am yet to start. Tomorrow classes are from 7 am. I hope that i reach on time...:-D

Monday 23 June 2014

Back in Chennai !!

With classes to start on June 28th, I came back home for a break. While trying to learn to use Blogger through mobile, I accidentally deleted Prologue post made on Monday, 16 June 2014 and found that it can be seen in cached version of the link site:blogspoturl.com. but I don't know how to undo delete post yet. I never thought this blog will start off with a note of my crazy ways. He he . :-D
